is LUSE on HDS arrays a concat or a stripe ?
LUSE are concatenated... and the 1st "LDEV" in the LUSE gets hit very hard. Stagger the 1st LDEV in the LUSE from RG to RG so they don't overlap.
The I/O profile has to span the entire area of the LDEVs to be beneficial - like database files that fill up all the space. Fileserver IO sucks since the 1st LDEV get the I/O and the others are quiet until the filesystem grows and more space it used.
LUSEs are discouraged, keep the # to 6 max.
